Technical Project Manager
Job Description
Mercent’s Service Delivery Team (SDT) is looking for a stellar Technical Project Manager (TPM) to help lead systems integration projects for our flagship enterprise software service, Mercent Retail. This is a simultaneously customer-facing, partner-facing, and internal-facing position whereby the TPM will lead the integrations of customers’ back-end systems with Mercent Retail.
This position requires solid project management experience in an IT or software environment, dedication to well-executed teamwork, the demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple integration projects simultaneously, and a passion for customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Schedule and drive integration projects to launch new clients on the Mercent Retail platformCoordinate and support the efforts of Integration SDEs, Product Development staff, Quality Assurance, and IT OperationsCoordinate with channel partners to get customers live on the leading online marketing channelsProvide project management services including team leadership, project plan development, scope management, schedule and cost management, issue resolution and risk management, status reporting, and the successful achievement of all project objectives.Troubleshoot post-integration issues and lead the response to customer-related Help Desk requests to maintain Mercent’s high Customer Satisfaction rating.Ensure proper technical documentation of customer integrations and internal support processes.
Qualifications
3 to 5+ years experience managing medium-to-large scale IT, software development, and/or systems integration projects – including at least 1+ years managing Web application development and/or Internet technology-based integration projects.Exceptional customer interface skills and experience – including solid diplomacy, negotiation, troubleshooting, analysis, and problem solving skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all team roles (e.g., sales staff, technical engineers, resource managers, etc.) and career levels (e.g., executives, peers, junior-level staff, etc.) – including strong oral and written communication skills.Detail-oriented and process-driven, yet able to achieve results and balance with sometimes competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Solid understanding of core business model concepts and the related IT systems in at least one of the following domains: online retail, e-commerce, search engine marketing, channel marketing, affiliate marketing, business intelligence, and/or application service providers (ASPs).Proficient with a majority of the typical Microsoft-based project management tools (i.e., MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).Strong familiarity with Microsoft-based software development (e.g., .NET, Windows Server, SQL Server, DTS, MSMQ, etc.) and Internet-based systems integration (e.g., XML, XSD, XSLT, Web Services, etc.) technologies highly desired.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Project Management, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience is required
