Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. is currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide hardware and software technical support for Konica Minolta products and network environments. Provide support to KM Systems Engineers and Account Executives, Authorized Service Providers, OEMs and Dealers. Test hardware and software to document product problems that need to be sent to the Engineering Group for correction and provide workarounds or solutions where possible. Work directly with the Development Engineering and Marketing Departments to identify features and methods that can improve customer satisfaction and product quality. Work with the various support groups to evaluate problem reports, verify/resolve in the field to reduce warranty costs, improve action plans and increase the number of first time fix rates on service calls;Must develop a strong understanding of the Konica Minolta products and product architectures;Must be able to work flex shifts as required to accommodate a 12 hour support day. Hours of operation: 8 hours shifts from 7:00 a.m. CST to accommodate the 8:00-5:00 time period from EST to PST.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Graduation from a 2 year education program in a Computer Science, IT or Computer Maintenance program, or 1-3 years experience in a related field; MCSE, MCSA, CNE, N+ or A+ certifications are desirable. Must have a strong understanding of the host environments and operating systems supported by our products, which include Windows, Mac, Netware and UNIX, the applications used in these host environments and an understanding of the network protocols and topologies supported by these products. These include TCP/IP, Ethertalk, Netware, Wireless and USB; must develop a strong understanding of the page description languages supported by our products. These include Postscript, PCL, PJL and PDF. Interface directly with customers to provide technical support over the telephone, conduct troubleshooting based on problem descriptions and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlinesMust have good verbal and written communication skillsSpanish and or Portuguese speaking skills would be very desirable.
