Technical Support Specialist

Description:West is seeking a Technical Support Specialist with a minimum of one year experience in a network operations or technical support environment required. If you have a technical background and are looking for an opportunity to grow with an innovative and stable company, West wants you! Responsible for monitoring system activity and functions ensuring resolution and documentation of system problems are resolved in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner during assigned shift; provide a single point of contact for customers needing problem resolution to a variety of telephony, computer system and network system issues; escalate to appropriate resources any issue not deemed within the scope of the department and follow issue to confirm final resolution is made for the customer; assist in the development and implementation of tools and procedures to enhance the monitoring and escalation process. Hours and days will vary.Qualifications:- Minimum one year experience in a network operations or technical support environment required. - High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree in computer science, MIS or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements. - Knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems preferred - Knowledge of PC/LAN environments preferred - Knowledge of Avaya and/or Nortel preferred - Monitoring systems (e.g. Insight Manager, CA Unicenter, etc.) preferred - MS Outlook at an intermediate level required - MS Access at an intermediate level required - MS Word at an intermediate level required - MS Excel at an intermediate level required West offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
