Ernst & Young provides a broad range of risk-based advisory services including Program Risk Advisory (PRA). Over time, we have built our PRA practice to assist our clients in proactively identifying and managing risks in programs and individual projects. PRA assists organizations by providing independent verification of the state of mission-critical business and IT programs and initiatives (growth or operational excellence). Additionally the PRA team assists organizations with designing and implementing the governance programs necessary for ongoing decision making and risk management that can lead to success. Our team provides fact-based advice to senior executives in five strategic areas: Independent Project and Program Review (IPR); Independent Program Management Office (PMO); Investment Governance and Portfolio Management; Strategic Sourcing Risk Advisory; and Expert Witness Services. Proactively identifying and managing risk provide senior leaders with the visibility, predictability, and management criteria to effectively identify and manage risk to positively influence the outcome (reduce the cost and/or enhance the effectiveness) of a program or initiative. The PRA practice combines large complex program and project management experience with unique insights gained from years of program/project management experience and expert witness work. This background provides our resources with the understanding and the ability to rapidly identify and remediate the root cause of incremental failures that, if not contained, can lead to large-scale program or project failure. We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Manager who is responsible for leading projects or elements of multiple client engagements including service delivery and sales generation along with other related activities in PRA. This professional manages engagement teams and provides project governance and technical leadership in the analysis, design and implementation of complete project risk reduction approaches, addressing areas such as: Project complexity factors and governance pre-planning alignment Project formation and launch Execution controls and performance monitoring Pre-implementation readiness assessments Post-implementation analysis Project risk management planning and implementation Advisement on the acceleration of a client Program Management Office (PMO) Advisement on the development and maintenance of Project Management policies, standards, guidelines and processes related to management and operations of a PMO Determining approaches for project portfolios and sourcing strategies Sourcing strategy and project tradeoff decision frameworks, sales and relationship managementThe successful candidate will work with client personnel to identify, analyze, and evaluate project and program risk factors. Responsibilities Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and deliverables. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex project/information systems and apply it to client situations. Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services. Generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and approaches for client presentation.To qualify, candidates must have a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a Business degree with a minor in Computer Systems or Engineering Certification, or be pursuing certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP). A minimum of 5 years of experience is required for candidates with a bachelor's degree, or 4 years for those with a master's. The successful candidate must also have:directly managing at least multi-million dollar projects, or subsections of large/complex projects direct experience in leading/managing full lifecycle projects including: requirements development; task and development of work breakdown structures; schedule and manpower estimating; bid proposal development and pricing; directing technical implementation according to established schedules, budgets and quality objectives; trade-off analysis; and measuring and analyzing project performance experience in project risk management relationship management and business development experience ability to rapidly assist in performing critical analysis of large complex programs/projects ability to perform feasibility studies and cost benefit analyses ability to effectively interview and interact with project executive sponsors, a project team and external consultants effective presentation skills excellent organizational skills and discipline excellent project planning skills a working understanding of risk management demonstrated integrity within a professional environment ability to travel (including potential overseas travel) a current US driver's licenseNY-New York
