Test Engineer

Description:  Requires a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, automotive, etc) from an accredited college or university and five to seven years related experience. The incumbent plans, designs, coordinates, executes, monitors, evaluates and reports test and evaluation of military weapon systems and equipment, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and requiring substantial deviation from established test procedures and/or development of new instrumentation systems. Assigned tests are usually feasibility, engineering design, or development tests although work-load occasionally dictates performance of acceptance tests. Incumbent may be assigned independent responsibility for a project having the characteristics described above; serve as project engineer on a major, complex system that is part of a high visibility, high cost program. May lead a team of two or three lower grade engineers and technicians on a project involving substantial deviation from established test procedures and/or development of new instrumentation systems. Exercises technical direction over subordinate engineering, technical test support, and other supporting personnel in actual conduct of tests in the field or under simulated conditions. Makes assignments, reviews work, and provides instructions to such personnel relating to their function with respect to the particular test project. Skills:  Pay Rate: $55,000 to $66,000 AnnualMandatory Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, automotive, etc) from an accredited college or university and five to seven years related experience. Have the ability to supervisor lower level engineers. Must posses Valid Driver's License. Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance within 18 months of hire. Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
