The Role

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is seeking highly-motivated, energetic, and reliable ‘blank canvas’ to join our team as a Trainee Territory Manager.  This position will be based in our Perris, California sale site initially with the possibility of relocation to any of the territories within our US Southwestern Sales Division that consists of: California, Nevada and Arizona.

 

As a Trainee Territory Manager you will be placed into a 6 to 12 month ‘learning while doing’ program that exposes you to every aspect of the auction business.  Outstanding performers enjoy significant career advancement opportunities at Ritchie Bros.  Upon successful completion of the training program, the Trainee Territory Manager will progress to a Territory Manager position.

The Requirements

Our ideal candidate will bring the following to the table:

 

·  Graduation from a post-secondary education program within the past two years.

·  Some work experience under your belt and if you have experience in equipment sales or rentals or inside sales that would be great but not a must. 

·  Current equipment marketing experience would be nice to have but not essential. 

·  You will sell us on the idea that you’ve got “iron in your blood”!  Maybe you grew up on a farm or ranch or you’ve worked in construction before and you love being around heavy equipment!

·  You will sell us on the idea that you’re willing and eager to learn everything you don’t know about heavy equipment and trucks. 

·  You have a passion for people, sales and business.

·  Great communication skills.

·  The ability to think on your feet.

·  Comfortable with technology and learning new software systems.

·  You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

·  You have the drive to meet or exceed goals without ever sacrificing integrity - at Ritchie Bros., closing a deal is secondary to developing and maintaining honest customer relationships. 

 

It’s important for you to note that:

 

·  Training will be based out of our Perris, CA sale site. 

·  Travel is a big part of this role and will be required on a regular basis.

·  An openness to relocate during or at the end of the training period would be an asset.
