Veterinary Hospital Manager/Director – Exceptional Opportunity

An established innovative and caring Southern California beach community Veterinarian Hospital is seeking a limited number of very qualified management candidates to direct the business and non medical focus of this modern facility. This hospital has a fluid and stable organization that embraces teamwork, cooperative effort and delivers world class Veterinary Medicine to the Huntington Beach community.

The primary responsibilities of this executive position will be to run the day to day operations of the hospital while maintaining a good working relationship with the practicing DVM owner as well as excellent communications with the established and very professional staff.  One will need to stay on top of hospital projects and have demonstrated the capability to deliver work products on time and on budget.  As the chief line executive, keeping a close eye on revenue, inventory control and operating costs will be a very important component of this position.

While we would not exclude a strong candidate who did NOT have Veterinary Hospital experience, it would be difficult to get in synch with the language and the testing protocols without some experience in the animal health field.  Strong computer skills (MS OFFICE) are a must and experience with Intravet software would be considered a plus.

This position will enjoy a fair amount of management freedom and span of control as the DVM owner believes in delegation and practicing her profession and does not want to micro-manage the new hospital director.  It is also important to mention that a good amount of transition support will be available from the owner and the staff and it is also expected that the new successful director/manager will have a thirst for knowledge and will want/need to keep abreast of the current trends and innovations in the VM field.

This position has a handsome base salary plus a nice benefit program including an annual tuition component.  May we say that for the right person, the compensation package will not be an issue.
