Vice President of Human Resources

Clovis is an executive search firm that specializes in Senior Human Resources executive recruitment.  We have been retained by a well funded, start up financial organization to find their new Vice President of Human Resources.  This company is located in the DC area, and the appropriate candidate will have an integral part in helping the company meet their aggressive three to five year growth plans.  This is a great opportunity for a Human Resource executive to make a true impact on an organizations growth.

 

In the first 90 days of employment, the appropriate candidate will leverage previous experiences to build a strategic HR plan that will be executed immediately throughout the organization.  Other roles and responsibilities will include: Plan, develop, implement, and monitor programs and systems for all human resources policies and practicesDevelop key metrics to ensure that human resources meets the needs of the organization Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations affecting human resource activities and remains current with changes in federal and state employment lawsServe as an internal consultant to management in areas of human resources including but not limited to: employee relations, compliance, recruitment, compensation, organizational development, training and development, performance management, and benefits

 

Qualifications and Experience:Superior interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes negotiate, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and observe confidentialityExtensive knowledge of and experience in developing and implementing measurable HR systems and best practices including: recruitment and retention, orientation, organizational development, training, and development, performance management discipline, compensation and benefits Extensive experience in developing creative and cost-effective recruitment, orientation, and retention programsKnowledge of training and development practices, including identification of training needs, development of learning objectives, evaluation and delivery of resultsExperience in job analysis and developing legal and effective job descriptionsAbility to work well with, coach and develop others in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented environment

 

Education and/or Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of exempt-level experience in human resources required.  Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human resources, Business, Organizational or Industrial Psychology preferred.  PHR SPHR, GPHR preferred
