Vice President of Portfolio Operations This position is critical to the financial performance of the ICSD commercial operations area. The primary purpose is to manage all financial reporting, monitoring, and strategic planning for the UPMC commercial portfolio. Combined this area is responsible for monitoring the performance of approximately 30 commercial ventures with a current book value of $50 million.  Continued growth and restructuring of ventures is anticipated. Minimum Requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field; A Master’s Degree is preferred. The ability to effectively communicate with business needs, potential and financial results with senior management Experience should include a minimum of 10 years experience as an operational leader, preferably with start-up ventures. A minimum five years experience with healthcare or technology ventures.  Healthcare financing or venture fund experience. Experience with contract negotiations and business plan development highly desired. A proven track record of strong decision making abilities The VP of Portfolio Operations is responsible for the financial monitoring and operational oversight of portfolio companies as directed by the Executive Vice President of Commercial Services.  Works directly with the senior management of each venture to monitor company performance and alter strategic direction, as necessary.  Provides assessments of opportunities that exist for investment projects.  Directs financial analysis and due diligence projects, when necessary.  Develops and performs presentations when necessary. Manages investment portfolio with a current worth of $50 million.  Provides assessments of opportunities that exist for collaboration on co-development and/or co-investment projects with strategic partners.  In addition, participates with mergers & acquisitions, sales & marketing strategies, and sales channel development/assessment, as necessary.  This area has a current worth of $90 million. Provides status and progress reports to UPMC and ICSD Senior Leadership on a routine basis, including the Portfolio Board Presentation as directed by the EVP, Commercial Services.
