VoIP / Softswitch Architect

The BearingPoint Commercial Services Solutions Group is currently searching for Softswitch Engineers. Location/s: All US locations considered. This individual will be responsible for architecture, design, integration, and implementation of VoIP/IPT solutions in service provider and/or enterprise environment. This individual is expected to lead current and future VoIP/IPT projects. This individual will be supporting the project team in development of statement of work, project proposals, one-on-one and group interactions with clients, preparation and delivery of executive presentations, facilitation of technical workshops and interviews. Other responsibilities include development/execution of test strategies and test plans, implementation of VoIP/IPT network infrastructure equipment (Softswitch, Gateways, Application servers, and Media servers) at client locations. The individual will work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Requirements: A minimum of eight years professional experience, preferably in a consulting environment. A minimum of two years professional work experience with service provider and/or enterprise voice network architecture/design, implementation. A minimum of two years professional work experience with Service Provider telephony networks, protocols (ISUP, SS7, ISDN, AIN), and features (Residential, E911, CALEA.) A minimum of two years professional work experience with Softswitch Architecture (preferably with Nortel and/or Siemens VoIP platforms), Enterprise IP Telephony, IP PBX/Centrex and Features. A minimum of two years professional work experience in capacity planning activities in telephony networks (IP and or TDM). A minimum of two years professional work experience with Networking technologies (IP, MPLS, Routing, Switching, VPN, IPSec, Ethernet), Capacity planning, and Traffic Engineering. A mimimum of two years professional work experience with VoIP protocols (SIP, MGCP, H.323), TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, VLAN, QoS. A minimum of two years professional work experience with TMN, TMF/CORBA, eTOM, SNMPv2/v3. A minimum of two years professional work experience managing large projects (more than 5 people with 6 or months of duration). A minimum of two years professional work experience making client presentations and interacting with customers. US citizenship or greencard required. Preferred locations: East Coast (NY, NJ, MA, PA), Mid Atlantic (DC, VA, MD, NC), Midwest (IL, OH) and South/Southeast (GA, FL, TX). Must be willing to travel 75-100% M-Th.
