JOB SUMMARY

The Web Design Professional is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of SCI’s online presence with accountability for metrics. This includes posting and managing content, adjusting navigation and layout to accommodate articles, archiving pages and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be familiar with the latest web trends and will help us build a strong web presence. He/she will be passionate about driving more visitors to our site and converting them into opportunities.

The Web Design Professional will be responsible for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and the overall Quality Assurance (QA) of the website, ongoing content reviews and web-related marketing projects as assigned. He/she will have the ability to hand-code HTML and optimize graphics and web pages so that they load quickly. This person will also handle cross-browser optimization - making sure the site looks good on different browsers and in different screen sizes/resolution

This individual will work closely with our Leadership and Marketing teams to bring best practices in usability, performance and technology to their initiatives.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Code competent in HTML and PHP

·  JavaScript competent

·  Some understanding of content management systems

·  Knowledge of writing elements of a web page

·  Ability to meet deadlines

·  Able and willing to learn new tools for web development in relatively short order

·  Able to work accurately, efficiently, independently

·  Day-to-day site maintenance

·  Manage content updates

·  Manage hosting server relationships

·  Process and manage email broadcasts

·  Assist all team members with day-to-day tasks, as well as projects and assignments.

 

REQUIREMENTS

·  Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer technology, visual design or related field preferred

·  Three or more years of web programming, production or visual design development experience

·  Experience working with: HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, VB Script, DHTML (Dynamic Html), Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Shockwave, Director or other multimedia tools as well as experience with Web servers like IIS or Apache

·  Knowledge of asp.net or java – jsp is an added advantage

·  Strong client service skills and corporate relationship capabilities.

·  Demonstrated ability to interface with Senior Management.

·  Excellent writing, grammar and proofreading skills.

·  Must be technology proficient, specifically with MS Office applications, internet and email.

·  Must be self-motivated, organized and demonstrate proficient multi-tasking capabilities in a very dynamic work environment.

·  Must be able to utilize common office equipment such as (but not limited to) copiers, scanners, fax machines, phone systems, desk top and lap top computers.
