Workers Compensation and Safety Manager

Our Getzville, NY location is currently searching for a Workers Compensation and Safety Manager!!! DescriptionManage the Corporate Workers Compensation & Safety department. Act as advisor and partner to managers, employees, and liaison between attorneys and insurance company. Follow corporate policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Principle Responsibilitiesq  Day-to-day contact with employees and managers, communicating and interpreting policies and procedures associated with workplace injuries.q  Oversee and maintain the day-to-day relationships between the Workers Compensation staff and field contacts/vendors.q  Maintain the integrity of information between the Workers Compensation staff and insurance companies regarding claims reporting, responses to requests for additional information and the resolution of claims.q  Correspond with attorneys to provide records, coordinate witnesses and preparation for depositions/hearings and recommend settlement amounts.q  Communicate, interpret and enforce the company safety plans.q  Train employees and managers on policies and procedures relating to workplace injuries and safety.q  Investigate and respond to complaints made to OSHA/OSH.q  Research and implement compliance with new Workers Compensation & Safety regulations.q  Oversee the maintenance of the OSHA logs and ensure posting per regulations.q  Manage a team of Workers Compensation & Safety Specialists and a Workers Compensation & Safety Supervisor.q  Maintain a record of files/claims in an access database.q  Accountable for all decisions, actions, and directives.q  Responsible for progressive discipline with regards to attendance, performance and all aspects of company policy.q  Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.q  Make recommendations to implement improved processes.q  Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualificationsq  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience.q  4-5 years of related/management experience preferred.q  Ability to use independent judgment and has a thorough knowledge of Workers Compensation laws and safety procedures for both the US and Canada.q  Ability to coordinate training with sites and adhere to scheduled deadlines.q  Strong personal computer skills in a windows environment using Microsoft office including Access.q  Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.q  Ability to work in a team fostered environment.q  Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-task environment. q  Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.q  Ability to prioritize and organize work.q  Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.  We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, paid time off and a 401 (k) plan.
