The Opportunity

The Ritchie Bros., Atlanta, Georgia sale site has an immediate opening for a Yard Manager. The Yard Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the sale site yard including team management, vendor and sub-contractor procurement and management, as well as the general organization of the yard to ensure the smooth operation of the Atlanta location. 

 

The Requirements

We’re looking for a hands-on manager who is capable of effectively juggling many things at once!  In this role you’ll be supervising full and part-time yard staff, you’ll be the go-to person for the sales staff, vendors and on-site sub-contractors and for essentially everything to do with the organization of the yard and the auction sales. 

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

·  Some experience managing or supervising multi-disciplinary teams.

·  Experience with or knowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks and trailers.

·  Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·  Ability to work with budgets and cost sheets.

·  Good computer skills.

·  Top-notch communication skills (on this job your most valuable tools will be the 2-way radio, a cell phone and a desk phone!).

·  A good fitness level - this is an active job. 

·  A clean, valid driver’s license.

 

This role will require you to:

·  Travel to other Ritchie Bros. sale sites from time to time.

·  Work extra hours in the weeks surrounding each sale.

·  Operate a variety of heavy equipment and trucks.

·  Work outside for the vast majority of the day.
