 1st Class Pipefitter

MEMC has several openings for First Class Pipefitters at its Pasadena, TX facility, located on the Houston Ship Channel.  We are looking for talented, hard-working team players possessing creativity, strong analytical skills, initiative and a commitment to excellence.

Position Description:

This position involves maintenance of mechanical non-rotating fixed equipment including rigging, dismantling, and fitting of pipework, exchangers, vessels, etc., fabrication and installation of piping and support structure.  This position reports to the Pipe Foreman.

 

Qualifications Required:

The ideal candidate will have completed a Pipefitter Apprenticeship program and have two or more years of applicable hands-on journeyman pipefitter experience.  Five years applicable hands-on journeyman level pipefitter experience will be considered in lieu of the apprenticeship program. 

 

Requires above average working knowledge of valve, fitting, flange and gasket types and application and ability to read P&ID’s, PFD’s, and isometric drawings. Candidates who are able to perform welding procedures using SMAW and/or TIG will be given preference, but it is not a requirement to submit an application.
