Application Manager - Chicago, IL

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Application Manager is responsible for supporting specific applications, maintaining SAP security, and acts as project manager for various projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the success of projects and fulfillment of project goals and objectives by providing timely updates to steering teams and management.Configure, document, test and implement functionality of SAP R/3, SAP BW and other systems.Identify IT services required for project and select IT provider, if needed.  Maintain project plan including project library and calendar updates with changes from the project team.Recommend and request IT services for enhancing and improving operational support systems.  Coordinate technical changes and outages with user community.Develop training material for end user training.  Define conversion specifications including data mapping, testing and conduct conversions.Define security strategies and develop and implement security parameters.  Verify appropriate approval levels for security change requests and administer security changes in the systems.Verify security of sites and maintain and upgrade security on a consistent basis and manage ASP service provider.Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or related field; minimum 3-5 years technical experience supporting systems and applications in a business environment; SAP applications and support, project management.  Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment.  Self-motivated and technically competent.  Good communication skills; able to explain technical procedures and concepts to non-technical employees.  Excellent interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain good working relationships and work productively with others in a team environment.  Strong work ethic, good organizational and problem solving skills, ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and use time effectively to accomplish tasks.
