Our client, a leading global niche manufacturer of precision equipment, is seeking an Assistant Controller for their Americas operations.

 

In this highly visible position, you will report directly to the Controller.  The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the Controller-Americas in all aspects of financial administration and reporting. 

 

Your challenge, in this role:Prepare and enter the monthly consolidation/elimination and other journal entries into SYSPROEnter monthly information into Hyperion, ensuring compliance in line with the parent company reporting deadlines and requirementsEnsure integrity of information in CognosProvide daily reporting of key management metricsMonitor daily activity in the company’s bank accounts, including initiation of outgoing bank wiresOversee inter-company reconciliation processComplete monthly accruals for incurred expenses not recordedEnsure timely and accurate invoicing to customers Allocate monthly expenses to the appropriate departments and product linesReview monthly expense postings for accuracy and journalize corrections as neededOversee accounts payable process in order to maximize cash flow while maintaining vendor relations and credit ratingsAnalyze all balance sheet accounts for all product lines, making adjustments as neededOversee preparation of the monthly financial reporting package, including graphed financial results Track capital purchases in accordance with approved budget  Oversee cash applications and credit and collections for the Company

 

You will perform the following financial reporting processes and submit the reports to the Controller-Americas:Coordinate annual budget process Coordinate and assist in the yearly financial audit with the outside accounting firmPrepare various sales tax returnsRun monthly and year to date financial statements, including analysis when compared to budget and the prior yearPrepare monthly bank reconciliations

 

Your duties will include:Initiate weekly payroll including the recording of payroll entries in SYSPROOversee administration of 401(k) planAssist in any other audits (tax or other) as requiredMaintain relationships with the bank including management of bank fees and negotiation of reasonable bank ratesProvide various other financial reporting and work on special projects as needed by other departments and senior management

 

The right individual will possess: B.S. in AccountingCPA preferredMinimum of 7 years experience in a similar role; past supervisory responsibility a plusStrong administrative and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated team player approach to workMust be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointSYSPRO, Hyperion and Cognos experience is a definite plus
