Help Hughes Safety Showers be a leader in the Industrial Safety industry by acting as the Business Development Representative who builds market position; identifies trendsetter ideas; locates, proposes, and screens potential business deals; develops negotiating strategies and positions; closes new business deals; protects organization's value. This selected individual will focus on the full range of Hughes products with an initial emphasis on local and over-seas projects working primarily with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction companies in the Houston and surrounding area. Primarily a sales position, the role includes cold-calling, lead generation and product demonstrations. There is also a significant customer relationship and account management component throughout the sales phase. Typical sales calls will range from site visits with individual plant safety personnel to presentations to large groups of project engineers. Additionally, opportunities to be involved in developing the overall marketing strategy for the US market, which may include identifying and managing sales/distribution companies or additional territory managers, are key components of this position. The ideal candidate must truly have a passion for the consultative role and possess a true desire to help clients meet their needs. Sales/Account Management Requirements (70%) o Extensive cold calling and lead generation experience o Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills o Experience with technical demonstrations (in person and on the phone) o Project Management experience with the end-to-end sales cycle, including implementation and training. o Experience with reviewing large engineering bid packages and preparing proposals complete with pricing and technical documents o Ability to work in a self disciplined environment Marketing (15%) o Experience drafting and developing marketing communication material including proposals, presentations, web-site content, etc… o Strategic thinker – particularly around the marketing strategies o Familiar and interested in keeping informed on the latest technology and occupational health and safety trends and making functional recommendations Analysis / Technical (15%) o A general knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems as well as ability to understand industry safety standards and codes o Ongoing market research and analysis to identify trends and shifts in the marketplace o o Familiar with the manufacturing cycle and experience in translating client's requirements to the order desk in a clear and concise manner.
