Business Development Manager - Welding and Laser Cutting ALA 8786

 

Air Liquide America L.P. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a key Business Development Manager – Welding and Laser Cutting role in California.  Working with sales organization, the business development manager is responsible for communicating and implementing the technical solution of Air Liquide’s products or services.  BD Managers seek out new opportunities that require a technical sales approach and often create the value proposition that enables Air Liquide to gain new clients across a diverse industrial base.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

Sales

-Generate Profitable New Business
-Seek out and secure new customers; transition new business to account managers
-Identify prospects
-Prepare proposals detailing benefits and costs of a new/enhanced product and/or equipment application
-Identify and assist in securing new multi-location business for Air Liquide; manage multi-location business headquartered in territory
-Solicit new business following the parameters set by management

Financial

-Sign new value-based business with account managers
-Increase sales volume and profitability for a specified market in the assigned geography
-Increase market share of new and existing customers
-Accountable for the growth of branded gases product line in Zone
-Strong emphasis on developing new business and maintaining existing accounts

-Create a business plan designed to penetrate and develop the branded gases product lines in a given territory
-Solicit new business following the parameters set by the business plan
-Develop customer target lists, seek and build strong relationships with potential branded gas users
-Develop and maintain relationships with technical and professional organizations that are closely aligned with industries that require branded gases
-Prepare periodic reviews and status reviews for management

Technical

-Explain and promote technical details of proposed product applications and technologies

-Conduct demonstrations of proprietary laser and shielding gas products at customer sites

- Create value based proposal demonstrating the cost – benefit analysis to win new business

-Assist existing customers by providing technical solutions for existing processes, recommending and implementing new and existing technologies

Customer Service and Relationship Management

-Acquire new business
-Cross-sell new applications to existing accounts
-Build and maintain strong relationships with new customers
-Meet customer’s expectation without exception
-Gather and document competitive intelligence

General
-Identify and coordinate Air Liquide resources
-Improve portfolio profitability
-Assist Strategic Account Management Team within a given geography
-Improve customer satisfaction

Personal development
-Increase knowledge of new applications and associated potential

Requirements:  General Requirements
-Product and market knowledge of welding, cutting and laser gases. Minimum of 3 years experience in sales or application based selling in front of end user customers.
-Analytical and conceptual ability
-Analytical and conceptual ability necessary to assimilate customer or market requirements, Air Liquide capabilities, and
