 Job Summary

 

The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the daily operation of the procurement of chemicals to meet our customer’s requirements.  This position will help establish procurement policies and strategies and then execute them during their daily functions. This is a hands on role.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Working closely with customer service, sales, and the customer to meet our customer’s requirements for chemicals

Placing all chemical orders, following up and expediting orders

Sourcing New Product for customers

Establishing inventory levels for Inventory Optimization.

Oversee and Manage On-hand Inventory

Managing the Inventory Replenishment Process

Returns Management/Reverse Logistics

 

Position requirements:

 

Must have major attention to detail and follow-up capabilities.

Adapt well to change and react quickly to fluctuating customer requirements.

Strong background in supply chain management techniques.

DRP/MRP experience.

Candidates should have at least five years experience in buying/planning.  Familiarity with procurement of high-volume products in a multi-vendor environment would be ideal.  Chemical purchasing background is a plus.  Strong experience with Enterprise systems is important.  Experience with the Tecsys Elite Series Distribution Management application, or any major Sales Distribution application desirable.  A background in a cGMP environment and APICS certification would be a plus, but not required.
