Chemical Engineer Job Title: Chemical Engineer (multiple positions)Location: Corporate Office – Downtown Houston and Bayport Plant PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor/track unit performance with outside unit observation, pressure/temperature surveys, Microsoft Excel, PI Process Book, TDC Control system, and process simulator software. Lead/participate in Process Hazards Analyses. Define and execute small (non-capital) projects. Assist groups with capital project design and installation. Monitor unit catalyst performance and issue catalyst life projections. Evaluate new proposed catalyst systems; recommend and initiate procurement process for new catalyst. Maintain working material balances for assigned operating units. Perform various chemical engineering-type calculations on an as-needed basis for Operations or other Operations support groups. Study/analyze/troubleshoot unit operation with vendor-provided diagnostics. Turnaround support (shutdowns, turnaround work, startups); Ability to respond to unit upsets and offer recommendations during off-hours, holidays. Additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. 0-3 years of engineering experience.
