Chemical Maintenance Operator

Protective Coatings is currently recruiting for a Chemical Process Operator in the Kent area. This position offers stability, opportunity for advancement, paid holidays and paid vacations. This person will be working in a plant setting and will be responsible for mixing chemicals, making batch adjustments and conducting process controls according to Standard Operating Procedures.

 

Other responsibilities would include, but not limited to:

 

Operating equipment such as Forklifts, hydraulic, pneumatic and other electrical equipment.

 

Proper disposal of spent materials, packaging materials and other materials as instructed.

 

Transporting materials of varying weights in a manner that is within established safety guidelines.

 

Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.

 

Inspect operating units such as towers, storage tanks, scrubbers, collectors, and driers to ensure that all are functioning, and to maintain maximum efficiency.

 

Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests in order to monitor processing, and to ensure that standards are met.

 

Patrol work areas to ensure that solutions in tanks and troughs are not in danger of overflowing.

 

Ability to lift and move product weighing 55lbs.

 

Desired Education

 

Must have High School Diploma with at least 1-2 years experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.

 

Good oral and communication skills required

 

Good mathematical skills required

 

Candidates should also be experienced with using MSDS, HAZMAT, WISHA Safety regulations, Respirator certified or the ability to become so, Confined Spaces, Ladder safety.  HAZWOPER training a plus
