Chemical Plant E&I / Controls Engineer - complete EE

The primary purpose of this job is to furnish knowledge and engineering skills for the support of the electrical and instrumentation group for the site.  Technical oversight includes day to day operations and new project responsibilities.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

* Design, installation, and maintenance of all power distribution and instrumentation systems of the site to include PLC and DCS systems programming needs.

* Work closely with Instrumentation Specialists, E & I Technicians, electricians, and outside contractors.  Promote and develop teamwork concept.

* Manage ISO-9002 Calibration system for all quality critical instruments. 

Maintain calibration instruments.  Maintain electrical troubleshooting instruments

* Provide labor and knowledge to install electrical systems including three (3) phase  440 volt starters, conduit, and wiring for various chemical processing equipment such as agitators, pumps, etc.

* Provide labor and knowledge to repair or replace electrical systems as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires B. S. Electrical Engineering Degree with at least 3 years chemical plant experience.

May consider strong Associates degree with the right experience, work ethic, attitude, etc.

* Strong Industrial Instrumentation experience; Knowledge and experience with PLC and DCS systems

* Experience in Maintenance and Repairs to include repair techniques of all transducers used in instrumentation such as transmitters for temperature, pressure, weight, and level.

* Knowledge of Electrical Code and Class I, Division 1 and 2 classifications

* Experience with variable frequency drives
