Huntsman has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Chemist to joint our team in at our Huntsman Advanced Technology Center located in The Woodlands, Texas.  This job requires good skills on lab practices but also requires independence, creativity, initiative and a strong orientation for results.



Key AccountabilitiesThe job holder will work under the direction of a Technical Manager or Experienced Scientist conducting experimental work in a lab environment to develop new product concepts and test ideas based on theromoset chemistriesAll experimental work will be conducted according to well established lab and safety practices to minimize risks and exposure to individuals, facilities and equipmentJob holder will need to be familiar with standard lab procedures, the operation of a number of lab equipment pieces including setting up glassware, operating basic equipment, and from time to time operating some larger machineryAll lab data and observations will be properly recorded in lab notebooks and summaries will be communicated in periodic and status reports and/ or presentations. The job holder must be familiar with basic computer operations and standard business software.The job holder must be capable of understanding basic calculations and formulation procedures to properly conduct lab experimentation.The job holder will be a good communicator and will actively report progress to senior scientists and technical managers and will actively look for information to improve upon on going projects. Information will be sought either through existent literature, discussions with supervisors, colleagues and coworkers or other sources such as internet searches. The job holder will be responsible for keeping the work area in safe and clean condition fully adhering to site policies, practices and procedures.The job holder will actively participate with other members of the technical teams in safety and housekeeping activities such as inspections, weekly clean ups and training sessions.

Education/Experience

BS Chemistry or equivalent, preferably with good knowledge of organic chemistry and lab practices.  Preferred 1 - 3 years experience in expoxy coatings and construction area.
