This position, located in Chevron’s Richmond, Ca. office, is responsible for long term product development projects in the “Fluids” areas including tractor hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, hydraulic fluids and gear lubricants. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the Core Technology Team. This position reports to the GTP (Global Technology Partnership) Industrial Engine oils and Specialties Core Technology Team Leader. http://www.chevron.com/oronite/about_oronite/The Chevron Oronite Company in Richmond, California is currently searching for a Chemist – Formulation Development.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:• Develop additive formulations for tractor hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, hydraulic fluids and gear lubricants.• Conduct mechanism studies related to corrosion, wear, oxidation and friction related to these product areas• Patent innovations. Stay abreast of patent and literature in these fields.• Develop tests to accelerate the development of products at lower cost. • Co-lead formulation teams consisting of engineers and chemists.• Maintain open lines of communication with global business and technical stakeholders. • Maintain technical contacts with designated North American OEMs and provide trends updates to key stakeholders.Required Qualifications:• Master’s degree required, PhD in Chemistry preferred.• May require limited domestic travel up to 20% and occasional international travel.
