Class A CDL Driver and Shipping Clerk/Order Puller



 

Northwest Houston manufacturer of janitorial supplies seeks a Class A CDL driver with Hazardous Material Endorsement.  Deliveries are made in our truck two to three times per week in Houston.  This is a full time position.When not making deliveries the driver will work in the shipping department pulling orders, creating BOLS, driving forklifts and pickers, verifying orders, re-stocking and shipping some hazardous materials. 

 

UPS WorldShip or word processing and spreadsheet experience required.  Must be detail oriented, accurate in counting, and have an excellent driving record and good work attendance record. 

 

Class A license with Hazardous Material Endorsement and forklift experience are REQUIRED - do not respond to this posting if you do not meet these requirements.

 

Driving Duties include:

 

·  Drive company truck and gooseneck trailer. 

·  Load and unload bulk tanks at customer's locations.

·  Complete receiving documents accurately.

·  Keep Class A CDL current.

 

Shipping Duties include:

 

·  Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.

·  Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.

·  Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.

·  Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.

·  Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.

·  Maintains department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.

·  Operates dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; operate shrink wrap machine; assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.

·  Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

 

Additional Information:

Pay $11.50/hour for experienced drivers with Class A license. 

Work involves some exposure to unusual elements and moderate physical activity required. 

Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
