Cogen Maint Engineer - OxyChem

• Above all, fully and completely support HESS initiatives, programs and goals to drive performance in these areas.
• Ensure reliable Cogen operation. Consult with Maintenance and Operations personnel to insure reliability issues are properly identified, addressed and plant reliability is improved. Investigate area equipment failures, troubleshoot, recommend and implement improvements, and maintain documentation on performance.
• Ensure PM program is maintained. Provide direction and make recommendations for Preventive and Predictive maintenance techniques, which include vibration and oil analysis, as well as pump and compressor improvements.
• Provide project engineering for maintenance and capital projects. Involved in project scoping, estimating, and acquisition of capital (AFE’s). Including material specification, procurement, contractor supervision and scheduling.
• Provide direction regarding specifications, repairs, and installation of equipment. This may include, scope of work for pressure vessel repairs, testing requirements, materials selection and creation of guidelines.
• Provide outage planning and coordination for outages and work associated with 3 Gas Turbines and 1 Steam Turbine. Track and manage costs, and performance metrics associated with CoGen outages
• Ensure inventory of Cogen spare parts is maintained and accurate.
• Understand, manage and apply the GE CSA. Handle/Manage GE TIL’s and track to completion.
• Develop and maintain expertise in areas of specialization, develop new skills, develop overall technical competence and participate in programs to improve professional development.

BS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering plus 5 years min. Cogen plant experience. Proven engineering skills mandatory. Good working knowledge of mechanical equipment - design/maintenance/operation required.

Good oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience in rotating equipment and turbines, high pressure boilers is desired.
