Entrepreneurial Opportunity

The contract buyer/purchasing agent is an exclusive independent contractor to the company in sourcing and buying salvage goods from insurance companies and their policy-holders, surplus food and chemical raw materials and finished products, used machinery and equipment and complete plants (including real estate), recyclable metals, cardboard boxes and waste paper for the company’s customers in China and other foreign countries.

 

This is an entrepreneurial, commission-based position. Only the confident, capable and hard-working individuals should apply. The income potential for the successful candidate is rather exceptional, in that a person holding a fixed-salary job in purchasing will never achieve. For this position, the compensation will depend upon the negotiated invoice value for each transaction of insurance salvage goods, surplus food and chemical raw materials and finished products, used machinery and equipment, complete plants (including real estate), recyclable metals, cardboard boxes and various other grades of waste paper purchased in accordance with the company’s established standards. Each Contract Buyer is expected to source primarily in the United States and Canada and to make bids and purchases using the company’s pre-set parameters. There is no upward limit in terms of volume as Chinahas insatiable demand for industrial raw materials.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

1.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in engineering and/or business administration 5-10 years of experience in sourcing/purchasing, sales and marketing or business administration; experience in materials recycling industry a strong plus;

2.  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing; Chinese Mandarin a strong plus, but not required;

3.  People person;

4.  Self-starter, motivated and strong desire to succeed;

5.  Willing to travel 30-50% of the time;

6.  Able to handle pressure and frustration
