Display Systems Engineer

The Display Systems Engineer will be the technical lead for E Ink'sdisplay integration group, responsible for maintaining E Ink's packageof electrical reference designs for display controllers and associatedprojects. This will include designing schematics and printed circuitboards suitable for use in mass-production consumer electronicsdevices. The Display Systems Engineer will serve as a resource to theapplication engineering team in fielding questions from customers andpartners relating to addressing active-matrix and direct-drivendisplays, and will lead troubleshooting efforts for internal andcustomer designs. The ideal candidate will have detailed technicalknowledge of standards and trends in the consumer electronics anddisplay industries, to ensure that E Ink's electronics products anddesigns are meeting the needs of our display module customers.

Job Responsibilities

Create and maintain reference designs for active matrix power andcontrol circuitry; execute designs from design requirements toschematic to populated PCB; test completed designs and evaluateperformance against requirements; Work with applications engineers to field questions from customers about E Ink's electronics reference designs;Serve as a key point of contact for technical communication withpartner companies for co-development of IC's, circuits, displaymodules, etc.;Troubleshoot performance issues in electronics designs from E Ink, customers and partners;Collaborate with other members of the product development team to define next-generation display electronics platforms; andCreate high-quality documentation (schematics, manuals, whitepapers, presentations) to educate co-workers, partners and customers onvarious aspects of display electronics design and implementation.

Skill Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8-10 years work experience, or MS EE with 6-8 years experience;At least 2 years experience in electronics system design for handheld consumer electronics or display applications;Skilled at creating schematics and PCB layouts using EE CAD software;Strong hands-on abilities: soldering, re-work, circuit debugging, signal analysis;Experience in troubleshooting display electronics subsystems;Familiarity with Linux operating system and C/C++ programming;Experience with HDL (VHDL or Verilog) or embedded software a plus;Strong written and verbal communications skills; andAbility and desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
