Electrical Instrument Engineer at Basell

Responsibilities include the following: To realize all site maintenance electrical-instrument engineering activities, to ensure optimum life and availability and to protect the integrity of plant machinery and equipment, in accordance with company policy, guidelines and relevant legislation.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Support a maintenance culture where teamwork and close cooperation of all Basell business activities working towards Basell company values and goals is the highest priority. Support a maintenance culture in which employee health, safety, environmental stewardship and perfect reliability are the top priorities. Provide electrical-instrument engineering support to maintenance and operations to sustain safe and reliable equipment operations at the lowest cost. Responsible for effective and efficient maintenance performance in terms of:
Management of Change proposals. Plant reliability targets (with Line Engineer ). Effective usage of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques to achieve maintenance excellence. Effective shut-down preparation and execution in line with best in class performance. Statutory requirements. Maintenance costs (supporting the Maintenance Manager). Bad Actor analysis. Failure and breakdown analysis. Supports the Maintenance Manager in the preparation of maintenance cost budgets and monitoring and control of maintenance expenditure against agreed budgets. Liaises with Operations Coordinator, Line Engineer and Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Coordinator to execute an effective and efficient Maintenance Strategy (Preventive/Predictive/Break down) to improve reliability performance and reduce costs. Liaises with vendors and third party equipment experts to resolve reliability and performance issues. Help supporting the training needs identification for the Maintenance and Operations resources to improve reliability of the electrical and instrument assets. Prepares proposals for improvements in coordination with the Innovation group. Uses continuous learning in order to achieve better reliability at lower maintenance costs. Participates in relevant KX communities. Available to advise the maintenance team 24 hours/day, 7 days/ week. Optimization spares inventory in areas inventory.









 

Requires four year degree in Electrical Engineering or sciences plus 5 - 10 years of manufacturing experience. Experience working in a multi-national company preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English is essential. Knowledge of other languages is useful. Ability to communicate in the site's local language is preferred, or must be rapidly achieved.  Demonstrated IT capability in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident).
