Electrical Principal Design Engineer

We currently seek a high caliber Electrical Principal Design Engineer to work on a contract basis for 6-12 months. Based in Sugar Land, Texas, you will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement & construction companies to the Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals sector.

Job Description:
•Serve as Electrical Lead on assigned projects
•Support proposal and estimating activities
•Prepare home office man-hour estimates
•Develop work plans and schedules
•Write and review project requirements
•Write equipment purchase specifications and data sheets
•Prepare bid tabs for electrical equipment
•Perform/check engineering calculations
•Provide electrical scope of work for contract packages
•Serve as interface with client electrical specialist
•Travel as required for project site visits and equipment inspections
•Mentor less experience engineers
•Interface with the Department Manager for staffing/de-staffing needs
•Direct and oversee audits •Under general supervision, perform and check calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual design techniques.

Job Requirements:
•BS in Electrical Engineering – required
•Licensed Professional Engineer – required
•Total Electrical Engineering experience of 20 years – required
•Proven project leadership experience - required
•Minimum of 16 years experience in upstream/downstream petrochemical and or refinery work – required
