Engineering Manager

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and service of environmental vapor control equipment for the petroleum and petrochemical industry, is looking for a very talented Engineering Manager to join their team.  This is a great opportunity to join an organization that has tripled their sales over the past 3 years and is experiencing tremendous growth. 

 

Our client is headquartered in Louisville, KY with offices in Sydney, Australia and Tuscany, Italy.  With an International book of business they have a corner on the market. As the company continues to grow, they are seeking an Engineering Manager to bring continuity to their International Engineering team. 

 

Each order our client handles is custom engineered by the Engineering team.  An average project ranges from $400,000-500,000 and takes 6-8 months start to finish.  The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the team in the right direction and making sure all bases are covered.  The ability to bring synergy and drive to each project while working on an International platform is a must.  Currently the engineering teams function as one unit; however, learning how to make the team more efficient and drive success and growth forward is required.  As of February 2008, our client has business scheduled for the rest of the calendar year and can no longer accept new orders!

 

The ideal candidate will have an Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering with 5-10 years of proven leadership ability.  Chemical Engineering experience is a strong plus.  This person will not only be responsible for an International Engineering team, they will also be responsible for helping grow the business, by improving the efficiency of the Engineering department as the company ventures into new areas of business.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Manage engineering department by providing guidance to ensure jobs are completed on schedule and under budgetInterface with customers to establish project requirements and any change orders Manage projects through conceptual design, cost and schedulesWork extensively with fabricators on a domestic and international basis during the construction processDomestic and international travel will be requiredDesign and manage the construction and installation of air pollution control equipmentReview and approve all engineering documentations, including detailed drawing and reportsResponsible for hiring new engineers, evaluating performance, and terminations if necessaryOversee the engineering coordination in Sydney and Tuscany to ensure company standards are harmonized

 

REQUIRED SKILL SET:

 Exceptional organization and communication skillsAssociates or Bachelors degree in Engineering Knowledge of mechanical and chemical engineering concepts including stresses, materials, fluids and thermodynamicsKnowledge of standard drafting proceduresAbility to maneuver in AutoCADAbility to diagnose and solve complex engineering and internal company issuesAbility to bring a multitude of diverse personalities together to function as one cohesive unit5-7 years of proven leadership experience

 

Our client is willing to offer a competitive base salary with a possible bonus structure.  Medical, dental and retirement benefits are available as well.  This position does have the long term possibility to grow into a partnership with the current owners.
