Engineer Development Program (EDP) - With A Leading Fortune 500 Company Superb Opportunities For Top Mechanical, Chemical and Electrical EngineersDo you want to continue to progress and learn as an engineering leader?  Want to do your part to diminish the USA’s dependence on oil and gas?  Want to apply your skills to help the global environment?  Are you a high-achiever?  Honest, smart, and ready to grow?  Then, here is the perfect role for you! About our client:  Our client manufactures and markets chemicals, fibers and plastics worldwide.  They provide key differentiated coatings, adhesives and specialty plastics products.  They are one of the world's largest producer of PET polymers for packaging and a major supplier of cellulose acetate fibers.  Founded in 1920 and headquartered in Tennessee, they are a FORTUNE 500 company with annual sales of over $7 billion and approximately 12,000 employees.  They produce over 1,200 products that enhance the lives of people worldwide.  And, even though their products are not household words, they are used in making everything from the packaging for your food, drinks and personal care products, to the fabric in your clothing and home furnishings, to the paint on your house and automobile, to the plastics on your bicycle helmet and golf clubs.  They provide superior salary and benefits, and a superb relocation plan.  Just a “blue-chip” company, through and through. The opportunity:  As a mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineer with our client, you will enter an exclusive, specific and tailored Engineer Development Program (EDP) where you have the opportunity to be in the middle of our client’s exciting corporate growth efforts.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity!  Like going back to school, but getting paid for it! You will have the hands-on role to apply your engineering skills to a variety of processes for about 2 years in their corporate headquarters in Tennessee, as you prepare for permanent assignments in either Texas or Louisiana, where you will ultimately relocate and live during your next assignment.  The plants in Texas and Louisiana are startups and brand new facilities where you will be working to operate an industrial gasification plant.  Our client is the world-leader in this fantastic technology called Industrial Gasification.Areas of expertise are needed in:  Plant Engineering, Process Engineering, Reliability Technology, Process Technology, Utilities, Maintenance, Process Instrumentation, Chemicals Development, Research, Pilot Plants, Chemicals/Specialty Polymers/Cellulose, Esters, Development Organizations, Technical Service, and Manufacturing. After your approximately two-year training stint in our client’s headquarters in Tennessee, you will relocate back to our client’s plants in either Southeast Texas or Southeast Louisiana, for a variety of roles, to include reliability engineer, plant engineer, process improvement engineer, manufacturing engineer, and various supervisory roles.  Assignments in the Engineer Development Program (EDP) can provide a fulfilling long-term career within our client’s Technology or Engineering organizations, or serve as a springboard into maintenance, manufacturing, or business leadership/general management positions.  Candidates should be energetic, adventurous, flexible, self motivated, and interested in advancing in the high-paced strategic growth efforts for our client. Responsibilities: During the initial assignment in Tennessee, about 2 years, you will use your knowledge of engineering and your developed understanding of processes to support projects within your reporting organization.  In subsequent assignments, you will:  Support the growth efforts through direct project involvement or gaining of hands-on experience with the industrial gasification technologies that will be utilized at the new facilities. Execute projects as part of a team, as a team leader, or independently. Become proficient in the technologies that will be practiced at the growth sites. Learn key client technical, manufacturing, and management processes. Will complete the EDP training curriculum specifically tailored for your background. Support the growth efforts through participation on growth project teams or process piloting. Support the advancement of the EDP program and develop and maintain a network with Technology and Engineering resources to call upon for technical expertise, process understanding, and project implementation. Ensure health, safety, and environmental concerns for all projects have been addressed and assist in ensuring a safe work environment. Communicate effectively and appropriately with all stakeholders. Qualifications: BS/MS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering 3 to 12 years experience in the Manufacturing/Process/Power Industries Broad range of mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering skills Continuous manufacturing process support experience Ammonia, Methanol or Gasification, POX, syngas process experience is preferred for ChE’s Experience with PLC and DCS systems and process instrumentation for EE’s Ability to gather and analyze manufacturing process and cost data Good understanding of the fundamental principles of process economics analysis Capital project management and startup experience is desirable Statistical Methods, including SPC and DOE Experience in rotating equipment (pump systems, seals, compressors, etc) is required for ME’s Experience with process equipment (piping systems, valves, gaskets, etc) is required for ME’s Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to solve problems and drive improvements Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects Willingness/ability to work with operations and maintenance Capital project and startup experience is desirable Certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is a plus Experience in Coal Gasification or Power Generation is a plus Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
