Then, here is the PERFECT role for you!As the Environmental Representative with our client at their Columbia, South Carolina manufacturing facility, you will be an integral member of the Health-Safety-Environmental-Security (HSES) team. You will report to the site HSES manager, who reports to the site plant manager. Your base salary will range from $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experience, and you will be eligible for a 10% bonus or more, depending on team and personal results. There is also a highly generous and desirable, complete relocation package being offered. Responsibilities: Assist company units in complying with company environmental policies and environmental management systems. Participate in company’s environmental management programs (i.e., waste management). Involved with problem solving and maintenance of the compliance monitoring and data collection systems required for environmental compliance in air and water arena. Help develop and implement proactive maintenance and operation of all compliance monitoring equipment. Participate in the planning and coordination of all required emission and certification tests. Maintain site-specific environmental procedures and contributes to development of operator training procedures affecting environmental programs. Participate in interface activities between operational departments, corporate environmental affairs, environmental services lab, corporate legal, and other HSES related groups when needed. Must be able to read and interpret plant and engineering drawings and technical documents. Contribute to ensuring environmental compliance. Represent company at environmental meetings/hearings and attends outside training/workshops. Interface with all divisions concerning any environmental concerns. Perform and assist members of HSES in incident reviews. Evaluate each environmental exceedance by data analysis. Participate in review and processing of various area project environmental issues including but not limited to process improvements, writing and editing technical procedures, capital project work, and other miscellaneous technical assignments. Review, evaluate, and guide the site in Federal and State regulations to define compliance and applicability to the site. Participate in the review of permit applications to confirm completeness/accuracy prior to submitting to the Federal or State agencies. Contact Federal and State agency personnel as advocate of the company’s position on legislation and rule making as directed. Participate in agency visits and acts as escort to Federal and State inspectors. Serve on off-hours call duty for HSES events. Qualifications: • BS/MS in Environmental or Chemical Engineering. • 3 to 7 years experience in similar role, specifically working within a manufacturing site. • GPA of 3.0 or better. • Capital project management and startup experience is desirable. • Statistical Methods, including SPC and DOE experience is a plus.You should have comprehensive knowledge and expertise in environmental regulations affecting air, water, and waste at Federal and State level, including permitting, reporting, and compliance activities. The position is mainly responsible for environmental air permitting and regulatory interpretations at the manufacturing site, in conjunction with Federal and State levels. Activities include permitting, regulatory applicability reviews, management of permit revisions, compliance reporting, record-keeping, communication with operational departments, and regulatory notifications (EPA/SC DHEC). You should be knowledgeable of new regulations such as Commercial and Industrial Solid Waste Incineration (CISWI), Best Available Recovery Technology (BART), National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs), Miscellaneous Organic NESHAP (MON), Hazardous Organic NESHAP(HON), Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR), Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT), SC Air Emission Inventory Report, and Stack Testing.
