Field Technical Support Specialist - Chemistry Equipment

Cambridge Scientific is seeking a Field Technical Support Specialist for our client, a leading analytical instrumentation company!  Position will be based from their Oakland, CA office.

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Regional Manager in the Northern California Regional Office.

The individual in this position is responsible for providing technical support for the region. He or she assists on demonstration and sales calls, does installations, trains customer and regional personnel, as well as, help customers adapt methodology for our instruments, as well as, other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities Include:

The essential function of this position is to assist the sales efforts by installing instruments and training customers in their uses at customer sites. Assist the Product Managers in achieving customer satisfaction. Manage and maintain the regional demonstration laboratory. Assist and consult on regional and customer training. Assist the Regional Manager as necessary. Act as safety officer for the demonstration lab. Must travel overnight as the position requires. Must travel by air and drive as required.



Additional Responsibilities:

This position's primary focus is to provide technical expertise for the selling effort of the region.

Education/Experience:

A minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry, or a closely related field and at least two (2) years of laboratory experience is preferred.

Training Methods, Instrumentation, Report preparation, Chemistry, Time/Territorial Management skills, Customer relations, Service Repair, Laboratory equipment, Chromatography software and computer literate.
