Foreign Trade Zone Leader

Position will be responsible for Momentive Performance Materials’ Foreign-Trade Zone operation in Waterford NY.

Position requires an organized and detailed person who can work independently. This is a new position. The selected candidate will be involved in helping define and establish the position during implementation then performing the identified roles and responsibilities on a daily basis long term.

Position will involve elements of plant materials planning, and researching and collecting data from various computer systems for manufacturing and export operations. Responsibilities will include maximizing the benefits of Momentive’s export operations by management of FTZ entry and exit, handling SAP data feeds into FTZ computer software for manufacturing processes, interfacing data with Customs agency, and general problem resolution.

All applicants must submit to mandatory background investigation and drug testing policies required by Department of Commerce and Homeland Security laws and regulations.This position will be primarily responsible for Momentive Performance Materials’ Foreign-Trade Zone operation in Waterford NY.


Specific job responsibilities will include tasks and objectives such as:

·Coordinate effectively with cross-functional team to maximize Momentive’s benefit for export activity. Team will include plant engineers, materials planners, logistics personnel (internal and external), inventory management personnel, shipping/receiving, etc.

·Researching data for FTZ entry and exit of shipments

·Manage SAP data feeds into FTZ computer software for manufacturing processes

·Interface daily and weekly electronic data with Customs agency, and answer operational inquiries effectively

·Coordinate with Trade Compliance Leader for effective overall government relations

·Document savings and comparative analyses for Momentive management, identifying opportunities and presenting proactive plans/strategies

·Remain prepared for eventual external audit

·Prepare regulatory required forms, data, and periodic reports for required periods (daily, weekly, annually

·Participate in cross-training, for periods of absence, vacation, etc.

·General problem resolution

·Other responsibilities, on regular or project basis, as needs may arise

 

Requirements:



· Self motivated
· Comfortable functioning in a geographically dispersed team
· Understand compliance risk management concepts
· Technically adept at working with different types of computer software

 

Eligibility Requirements:

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with several areas of background knowledge will be helpful:
· Customs and FTZ documents (CBP Forms 3461, 7501, 7512, 214, 216, etc)
· Transportation and logistics terminology
· Licensed CHB and/or CHB experience
· Materials planning and chemical engineering background
· Financial auditing concepts
· Inventory management in a chemical environment
