GIS Analyst

Utilizes Geographic Information System field techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Extracts data from GIS software and uses varying analysis methods to arrive at results. Recommends appropriate reactionary strategies in response to GIS analysis. Works in conjunction with field personnel, and technicians. Uses Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for GIS database development and maintenance as well as metadata documentation. Performs HCA updates to FE database. Assists with the generation of alignment sheets, HCA and risk analysis sheets and other type mapping requests. Assists with maintaining the Facility Explorer program. Data conversion and restructuring techniques based on relational principles, experience with geodatabase model development. Works as part of team of GIS Analysts and CADD Designers. Will work closely with Sunoco Logistics Line Integrity personnel. Will be required to work with aerial photographs for interpretation. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. 



Associate’s degree in area of GIS with some experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.  Knowledgeable of GIS software and technology. Should have plotter printing experience. Experience with Trimble GPS equipment a plus.  Good customer service skills required.
