The Prayon Group is a leading international supplier of both food and technical grade inorganic chemicals, specializing in phosphoric acid, phosphates and related products. Headquartered near Liege, Belgium, Prayon operates manufacturing sites in Belgium, France and Augusta, GA, as well as joint venture production facilities in North Africa and Asia. We now seek a GMP & Validation Coordinator (Full-Time, 1 Year Contract) to support our continued growth in the North American market.
GMP & Validation Coordinator (Full-Time, 1 Year Contract) – Augusta, GA
The successful candidate will coordinate, develop and implement a Food Safety program (HACCP) ensuring that objectives meet or exceed regulatory requirements. While working closely with the Quality Manager, the individual will develop a GMP improvement plan for the manufacturing facility, define and coordinate the validation of activities (process, equipment and cleaning, etc.) by initiating the procedures and protocols for validation/revalidation and the management of the validation process. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, throughout the plant, to implement the HACCP plans. GMP & Validation Coordinator responsibilities include:
l Act as a Cross-functional Team Leader
l Perform a detailed risk analysis of the manufacturing processes
l Define, develop and verify the effectiveness of the HACCP procedures for the manufacturing processes
l Define and develop validation procedures and master plans for the manufacturing processes with approval of appropriate plant personnel.
l Develop a comprehensive GMP improvement plan for the facility including timelines for implementation.
l Conduct audits of process operations while being attuned to clear comprehension and validation of proper equipment operation.
Minimum Qualifications
l Associates Degree plus 3-5 years experience in Mechanical/Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Cereal Science, Food Science & Technology or a related field; or Bachelor of Science Degree plus 1-2 years experience in Mechanical/Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Cereal Science, Food Science & Technology or a related field.
l Experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably food or high purity chemical or pharmaceutical.
l Strong professional experience in food manufacturing process, cGMPs, HACCP, ISO, food safety, validation and quality systems.
l Understanding of quality standards expected by the FDA, State Departments of Agriculture and international bodies.
l Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, coupled with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with plant personnel at all levels.
l Effective organization, planning and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
l A.S. Degree and 5-7 years experience or BS Degree and 3 years experience in Mechanical/Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Cereal Science, Food Science & Technology or a related field
l Minimum Requirements
l Experience in statistical process control
l Understanding of ISO 22000 and quality standards expected by the AAFCO, USDA, and international bodies.
This is a Full-Time Contract Position for a 1-year duration.
