We are seeking someone with hazardous shipping expertise to assist in our transportation department at our Sacrament California facility who will: With minimum supervision, provide direction to employees within the work organization on the packaging, labeling and the marking of hazardous materials for shipments by all modes both domestic and international. Ensure all hazardous material shipments are made with the proper paperwork as required. Interact as liaison with carriers on all Aerojet needs concerning the transportation of inbound and outbound freight. Provide assistance and guidance to internal customers regarding transportation. Maintain internal and external transportation metrics highlighting productivity, on time performance, cost control etc. Work with other Sr. Program Planners classifying over the road hazmat shipments for DOT compliance. Miscellaneous administrative support including data entry, invoicing, filing and budgetary tracking. Other duties as assigned. To qualify you must have: - A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline - Six (6) years of hazardous material shipping related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Excellent written and verbal skills. - Demonstrated proficiency with overall computer usage with a focus on Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. - Working knowledge and hands-on experience with IATA/ICAO, IMDG and 49CFR regulations. - Current certification for hazardous shipments per 49CFR, IATA/ICAO and IMDG. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
