Science/Engineering discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for the assigned jobs. MS in Chemical Engineering or Process Chemistry; Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering is preferred. [Strong background in chemical engineering fundamentals, chemical reaction engineering and catalysis]. Experience: Seven years experience in a substantive industrial, technological or laboratory area relevant to the jobs assignment. Good command of oral and written English. Demonstrated active participation in technical seminars and/or original industrial research. Minimum 5+ years industrial experience in research and development in refining and/or petrochemical areas, especially in heavy ends processing. Depth of knowledge of basic refining and petrochemical processes, especially heavy ends refining processes such as coking, visbreaking, RFCC, etc. Experience in process scale-up and commercialization. Experience in commercial reactor design & scale-up. Track record of achievements in commercial process development. Experience in mathematical modeling & commercial process simulation packages. Experience in bench scale & pilot plant testing, data analysis and interpretation. Ability to identify & solve complex problems. Team work and interpersonal skills.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES: Saudi Aramco Research & Development Center (R&DC) is seeking a scientist/engineer with an expert knowledge in Heavy Ends Refining Processes. The candidate will work with a team of engineers and scientists who are pursuing several technology development opportunities in the area of heavy ends refining process development. Working with a dedicated team, the candidate should expect to involve in all aspects of process development activities aiming for the development of environmentally sound petroleum fuels. The candidate is expected to: - Lead process development effort for the commercialization of new heavy ends refining processes. - Conduct techno-economic analysis of process options. - Plan and conduct research & development activities for related process development. - Use mathematical modeling & commercial process simulators for design, process selection & optimization. - Liaise with personnel from Saudi Aramco refining facilities to ensure that technology development sought by R&DC Clean Petroleum Fuels team can be deployed according to Saudi Aramco corporate guidelines. - Issue reports and file patents from R&DC activities. - Train young Saudi Engineers and keep abreast with current trends in process technologies. - Contribute to project management
