Learn and understand Targa’s Safety Polices and Procedures and Business Ethics Policies. Plan and perform all assignments in a safe manner by utilizing the proper tools, safety and environmental precautions, permitting, and Process Safety Management, and have a basic knowledge of the effect his work will have on his co-workers and the plant and field operations.Learn to fill out applicable work/hot work permits, lockout/tagout documentation, attend and participate in tailgate sessions with others involved in work site activities.Assist other I/E Technicians or Supervisor with routine and major maintenance repairs of electrical equipment such as, but not limited to, pressure and temperature transmitters, thermocouples, PLC’s, motor controls and Honeywell Control System.Learn and gain a good basic knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics, Gas Plant Operations, Engine & Compressor Operations and Maintenance, and Gas & Liquid Measurement. There will be verbal review sessions to determine learning progress and assist in the individual’s development. Depending on experience level and time at work location an I/E Technician I could be responsible to perform weekend and night call duty to analyze equipment problems and troubleshoot with a minimum of supervision.General clean up of assigned work areas (compressor building, maintenance shop, warehouse building, the plant yard, office building, etc.).Assist in training of new hires or other technicians in the areas of Targa’s safety procedures and policies, mechanical maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures and programs.Actively participate in all safety meetings and safety functions. An I/E Technician I is responsible for his/her safety and of any person he/she may be working with.Must be able to perform functions as outline on Essential Job Duties for a I/E Technician I.Perform other duties as requested by management.
Minimum Essential QualificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMinimum of 2-5 year of work related experienceSolid verbal / written communication skillsPossess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving recordSolid computer skills to include Microsoft Office SoftwareAble to lift, push and pull 75 lbsAble to work in close quarters while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing or standingAbility to work overtime to include weekends, holidays and to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective/needs Self motivated – ability to work independentlyFamiliar with the functionality of motor controls, PLC’s, control systems and end devices (transmitters, thermocouple, pressure switches, etc.)
Preferred QualificationsExperience with Honeywell Experion Control system and Modicon PLC’s.
