I&E Technician - Weatherford, TX

Company Overview ConocoPhillips is an international, integrated energy company with operations in nearly 40 countries.  As the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States and fifth-largest refiner in the world, ConocoPhillips’ goal is to deliver energy in a safe, environmentally and socially responsible manner.  Approximately 32,600 ConocoPhillips employees work worldwide to consistently deliver top performance and value to maintain the company's global market position.  Employees' individual talents and strengths combine to create a diverse and energized workforce within ConocoPhillips.  Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company had $178 billion of assets as of December 31, 2007. ConocoPhillips owns or leases various Transportation assets - pipelines, terminals, marine vessels, railcars and trucks - to provide strategic, timely and environmentally safe delivery and storage of crude oil, refined products and natural gas liquids to its refineries and to carry refined products to the market.  Job Description Perform all assigned duties involved in operating and maintaining  gas and crude pipeline systems and related facilities.  The I&E Technician must have a high degree of technical knowledge of instrument and electrical systems as they apply to pipeline operations.  Duties will include analyzing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation failures, determine extent of repairs, and understand consequences on the pipeline operation.  The I&E Tech will also plan, design, install and coordinate instrument and electrical projects in compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards. This position must have enough pipeline and work experience to occasionally backfill for supervision and will share "on call" rotation. Required Qualifications Must be authorized to work in the US, possess a valid driver's license, and be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to perform the essential job functions of an I&E Technician.  Must be familiar with the National Electric Code and with engineering standards and specifications. Must have ability to read, apply and develop electrical schematics and prints. Must have minimum AS degree or equivalent in instrument/electrical technology. Must have minimum 3 years I&E experience. Must be able to respond to emergencies and callouts. Must complete and maintain required safety and regulatory training using computer based modules. Must have proficient Computer Skills.

Preferred QualificationsFive (5) or more years of pipeline operations and/or maintenance. Demonstrated leadership, communication and organizational skills. Experience in project execution, including design, procurement, execution and start-up. Demonstrated interpersonal and teambuilding skills. Experience working with landowners, other pipeline operators and 3rd party concerns. Experience in supervising contractors. Experience with safety and environmental standards. NGL and crude pipeline experience.
