RequirementsMust have an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology with experience in the instrumentation field, or equivalent military electronics program.Must be able to read and interpret interconnection diagrams, process and instrumentation flow sheets, loop sheets and schematics.Must be experienced in and able to do wiring and panel construction.Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronic equipment and controls, pneumatic equipment and controls, advanced analytical and laboratory equipment.Must be able to work productively with limited supervision.Must be familiar with computers, software, computerized control systems and interfacing instrument control systems.Must be willing to work all shifts, weekends and overtime.Must be physically able to work in high areas and on ladders, work in confined spaces, work in outdoor weather conditions, able to work in high noise areas (with proper PPE), able to wear respirators and other PPE as required by the job, able to read small print, able to see all colors and have good manual dexterity and coordination, and meet other physical requirements as specified in the job description.Strong skills in the following areas: Self-motivated, teamwork, communications, resolving problems, concern for others, dependability, innovation.Must be committed to following and supporting safety practices.Must be willing to keep up to date with new technology.Must be able to use instrumentation test equipment.Must be able to use hand and power tools.

 

 

PlusesInstrumentation and controls design experience.Experience in the chemical process industry.Instrumentation metrology and calibration experience.ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST)

 

 

DutiesTo maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, modify, and install/construct instrumentation equipment and controls as assigned by the supervisor or project leader.To provide technical input to customers regarding design, installation, repair, and safe operation of equipment and systems.The technician will report directly to the instrument supervisor.Will be required to work overtime and selected holidays as part of a regular preventive maintenance program.
