IT Project Manager (Software Project Lead)

Provides project management leadership of legacy Customer Care application system. Provides technical, business, and project management expertise to lead, coordinate, enable, and facilitate project team(s) in all phases of system development life cycle. Develops relationships and integrate activities with other IT teams and departments. Fosters and maintains relationships with clients from Business Units, provide business and technical consultation, and meet expected service levels. Understands and supports IT strategic and departmental direction, and the IT process improvement initiatives. Provides formal and informal project status and communications. Drives communications up, down, and across the organization. Manages resources effectively and work with individual team members to maximize their productivity and contributions. Qualifications Must have a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience and technical training is required. Experience working for a consulting firm is a plus.  Minimum of five years of experience in developing and implementing IT projects.  Knowledge in COBOL2, DB2, CICS and JCL is desirable.  Experience in database design, mainframe experience, good analytical skills, and ability to quickly acquire and utilize new business knowledge and technical skills is desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of System Development Life Cycle and project management practices.  Able to develop action plans for self and others and execute large scale projects from conceptual stage to physical implementation. Demonstrated strong coaching, mentoring, interpersonal and team building skills Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to communicate complex issues to multiple audiences. Ability to work effective on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks.
