Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

Provides technical support in following areas:

 

· Programming and testing

· control system interface to safety system

· safety instrumented system:

§ programming, factory acceptance test, and pre-startup acceptance test, and

§ operation, maintenance, and testing procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Responsible for project schedule and budget, identifying scope changes and determining schedule and budget impact.  Must deliver projects that meet customer requirements and exceed customer expectations.

 

Configures process control systems, prefer experience with Honeywell, Delta V, Foxboro, Allen Bradley, and Modicon.

 

Develops testing procedures and commissioning plans.

 

Responsible for implementation of Safety PLCs, such as FSC, Triconex, Siemens,  Delta V, Allen Bradley, etc.

 

Writes safety PLC application programs to implement SIS logic, conducts factory acceptance tests, supervises system installation, site acceptance test and commissioning.

 

Writes hot cutover procedures and supervises work execution.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Education and/or experience equivalent to a B.S. in Electrical or Control Systems. At least 7 to 10 years of related experience, including process plant experience, is required.
