Inventory Control Planner

Columbian Chemicals Company, a leader in the carbon black industry, currently has an opportunity available for a Inventory Control Planner at our corporate headquarters in Marietta, GA.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Establish, monitor, and coordinate the control of finished goods inventory throughout the North American Supply Chain including manufacturing and distribution/warehousing system, to achieve customer service and inventory cost objectives. Provide timely and accurate information to senior management, sales, and customers with respect to product availability and plant downtime effects on inventories. Make recommendations on appropriate actions and on development of programs for continued customer satisfaction.
2. Actively track inventory and warehousing costs verses budget. Define and implement actions to correct variances.
3. Ensure continuous processes are in place to monitor and improve inventory accuracy performance at all plant and 3rd party warehouses.
4. Actively review and adjust inventory levels as required to provide for supply of customer requirements and demand in conjunction with established stocking policies.
5. Put in place stocking policies and monitoring systems so as to avoid aging or obsolescence.
6. Participate in projects and new/sustaining teams, as assigned, representing inventory, warehousing, and revenue concerns.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

• BA in Business Administration, or minimum of three years experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or supply operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required for working with customers, senior managers, management, and personnel.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize projects to ensure schedules are met in a dynamic, fast-paced operations environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to manage people and to work independently to achieve expected results.
• Computer literate, with proficiency using MFG/PRO, spreadsheets, data management, and word processing microcomputer applications
