 OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

 

Set-up and maintenance of all inventory items and special order items and any required information related to such items, both stocking and special order, for all Brady Industries locations corporate-wide. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork closely with corporate buyers and suppliers to obtain and verify all information required for set-up and maintenance of items, including prices, multipliers, item numbers, descriptions, weights, pallet packing factors, cubic volumes, hazardous chemical information, etc.  Load all supplier price increases in the system using Pricing Services.  This requires gathering the item information from the supplier in the correct spreadsheet format, adding other internal information to the spreadsheet, and mapping information to the correct fields in Prophet 21 software system.Track special order items (over 2,500 monthly) to ensure all items are delivered complete to the customer and any refused items are returned to the supplier or charged back to the salesman.  Generate various reports used to track inventory and special order items.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION: H.S. diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred

 

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years experience in warehouse/distribution environment. Inventory knowledge required.

 

ABILITIES:  Proficient in both Microsoft Word and advanced skills in Excel required. Must possess excellent problem-solving abilities and be detail oriented.  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.  Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in decision making is essential.  Must be detail-oriented and organized.  Good mathematical skills required.  Ability to operate office equipment including 10 key, scanner, fax, and phone. Must type at least 45 w.p.m.  May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Manual dexterity required.
