Lab Technician III

Lab technician position in the Applications Group responsible for the operation of electrostatic spray booths and related equipment.  This lab technician will be responsible all aspects of application related to test panel preparation including equipment control, test method development and correlation.  The level will be determined according to the educational background and experience of the candidate.  Weekend, night shift and overtime work will be required.Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.

 

This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. 

 

 The candidate should have at least an associate's degree in a science, engineering or related technical field.  BASF recognizes Institutes of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.  Candidates without a degree but with relevant work experience will be considered.  The candidate must be responsive to changing priorities and committed to providing timely and accurate test results.  An ability to use standard software packages (i.e., Lotus Notes, MS Office, etc.) is required.Previous experience in either a coatings laboratory, customer application facility or with an application equipment supplier is desired.  Other desired qualifications include hand spray application experience and good mechanical skills/aptitude.
