We have an excellent career opportunity available for a Leader, Account Team Sales, within UOP's Process Technology and Equipment business (PT&E) organization located in Des Plaines, IL. This position is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing a long-term career in UOP Technical Sales, Marketing, Business Management and other Business Development roles. This role manages the sales activities in the Latin American and Canadian markets for UOP’s PT&E organization. The Account Manager has the primary accountability for sales and UOP relationships with his or her client base. He or she is the front line for all UOP’s business dealings with clients. The Account Manager’s role is key in developing customer relationships, understanding the customer’s organization, understanding the customer’s needs, and providing UOP solutions to the customer. Position Responsibilities: Manage customer relationships and coverage. Forecast product demand and revenue from assigned accounts. Deliver budgeted revenue and margin. Lead opportunities through the entire sales cycle: identify opportunity, clarify bid, develop sales strategy, enroll and align sales support, submit proposals, close deals, work with order management team, production planning and service to deliver and service the product. Provide designs, technical consultation and troubleshooting to customers. Support Marketing and Technology functions by providing market intelligence and win/loss reports in a timely fashion. Facilitate collection efforts. Basic Candidate Requirements: BS degree in science technology or engineering (technical degree pertaining to the business). 10 plus years experience in the petrochemical or refining industry. 5 plus years experience in a technical customer sales or service role. Ability to travel domestically up to 30%. Should either be fluent in Spanish, or willing to learn quicklyAdditional Candidate Qualifications: BS in Chemical Engineering and / or MBA preferred Excellent oral and written communications skills. Should have a desire to pursue a long-term career in commercial sales. Solid ability to listen for opportunity and client needs. Ability to translate the benefits of UOP technologies (solution) to a specific customer application (need). Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
