MGR Forecasting and Inventory Planning

This position is responsible for the forecasting function within inventory management for the supply chain services, working closely with multiple areas of the business and customers to achieve service level requirements with optimal inventory levels.' Oversee the day-to-day operations of the forecast system, the interfaces, security, program fixes and upgrades performed by FIP Analysts.' Manage the design, implementation and maintenance of Demand Planning Parameter sets' Manage the month-end forecasting process with assistance as needed from the Information Services group' Implement, maintain, and simulate changes to Inventory Policy through IP Parameter sets' Maintain appropriate inventory stratification, such as ABC analysis, planner codes, etc. to allow for analysis of inventory targets.' Maintain software parameters that appropriately reflect Distribution networks, Order size, and safety stock' Account for inventory target changes required by product introductions and phase outs' Work with Category Managers to develop forecasts for new product launches, and the associated steps required for life cycle plans for these new items and the items they replace' Participate in monthly forecast reviews with Supply Chain and Category Managers and Sales' Assist in and direct testing and maintenance of the system for upgrades, maintenance releases, and program fixes' Lead and develop a team of FIP analysts' Perform related work as required.Position Qualifications:The following education, training, knowledge, skills and abilities are required to perform the above tasks:' Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Logistics, Marketing, or Business Detail oriented, self-starter' 5+ years experience with a computerized Forecasting and Inventory Planning package. ' Logility Planning Systems experience highly preferred.' Experience in DRP ' Experience with MS-Office (especially Excel and Access)' Good communication and presentation skills' Capability to interact with other members of the management team, including senior management' Strong analytical skills, mathematical modeling capabilities, use of statistical tools' APICS certification (CIRM or CPIM) desirable Learn more about company
