Manager of Ink & Applications Engineering

The EFI-Inkware business team is looking for an experienced Manager of Ink & Applications Engineering.  The position will be responsible for the management of the Inkware Ink & Applications Engineering team, as well as providing leadership and technical strategy to the business as a member of the EFI-Inkware management team. 

 Typical Tasks Include:Direct Management of the Ink & Applications Engineering Group (Approximately 4 Engineers and 4 Tech/Apps Specialists)Management of, and/or participation in, cross-functional Groups with in the EFI organizationMentoring and Helping to develop enhanced skill sets within the group through training and other meansDirecting the activities of personnel to resolve problems, conflicts and other issuesMust work closely with the Operations & Engineering Quality Assurance Group to ensure the highest level of quality in EFI-Inkware Products and ApplicationsMust work closely with the Commercialization manager, Sales & Marketing management and Operations management to bring new products and applications to market.Must work within a gated product launch / product line management processCreation of technical specs from functional specs, and then developing and executing follow-on comprehensive test plans and QC specsSupport sustaining projects / continuing engineering  as well as Manufacturing Engineering

 Responsibilities: Lead team in the development, launch and maintenance of EFI-Inkware Ink and Applications, as well as support Ink Manufacturing Engineering activities.Develop strategies to better organize the Ink Development & Applications team and leverage other EFI resources Specification and Documentation of  Ink and Application developmentReport on, and maintain status for, all Ink & Application development efforts within the R&D groupDevelop and Provide Ink and Application development schedules for all R&D projects  Assign appropriate resources to support R&D projects Ensure that team resources execute projects on schedulePartner with Manufacturing / Ops to scale-up projects as well as implement & monitor QC systems

 

Requirements: Total work experience of 10+ years in Chemical Engineering / Development, strong preference for Printing InksAt least 5+ years experience in managing a Development TeamStrong project & program management skills to drive multiple, complex product launchesExceptional teaming skills to work cross-functionally to bring products to marketAbility to manage successfully in a complex, growing matrix environmentStrong customer orientation for both external and internal customersExcellent communication skills with both internal and external audiencesDemonstrated ability to identify problems and to provide solutions with minimal direction A Bachelors degree in the appropriate field (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry etc.)Key Relationships:

· Reports to Vice President / General Manager, EFI-Inkware

· Partners with  Commercialization Manager, Marketing and Operations to define and deploy successful ink & applications solutions globally

· Partners with outside vendors and resources to deploy and maintain technology solutions
